Delhi Allocates ₹18.5 Crore for AI Learning in Government Schools

The Delhi government earmarked ₹18.5 crore in its 2026 budget to introduce AI-focused education across government schools, including curriculum development, teacher training, and digital infrastructure deployment. Alongside the budget allocation, the government launched the CM Shri Schools model in February 2026 — integrating AI-based personalised classrooms, robotics, design, and ICT labs — with 75 schools under construction and 7,000 classrooms targeted for smart-classroom conversion by 31 March 2026. This represents the first territory-specific, funded AI education initiative in Delhi beyond the national CBSE mandate, with dedicated budget attached to the rollout.
