The Government of Tamil Nadu launched TN SPARK (Tamil Nadu Schools Programme for AI, Robotics and Knowledge of Online Tools), targeting students in Classes 6–9 in government schools. The first phase covers 85 schools in Coimbatore district (78 middle schools, 4 high schools, 3 higher secondary schools), with bilingual Tamil-English textbooks, 880 hi-tech lab computers, and trained mathematics and science teachers delivering one-to-two periods weekly. The programme represents a structured, government-run AI curriculum for government school students, with teacher training built in, and is intended to scale statewide beyond the initial pilot.
