The fifth edition of the Elements of AI Luxembourg programme runs from March 2 to May 22, 2026. The course is free and self-paced with no prerequisites and is available in English, French, and Luxembourgish. Over 5,300 people have completed the course since its launch. The programme forms part of Luxembourg’s AI Strategy 2030 goal to train 1% of the working population in AI basics by 2030. Supporting formats include Online Coaching sessions and practical Talk Time conferences. The Digital Learning Hub is launching three new specialised academies on April 15, 2026 covering Data and AI, Cybersecurity, and Quantum Computing.
Who it affects: The course is open to the general public in Luxembourg at no cost. It targets workers, jobseekers, and citizens who want foundational AI knowledge without a technical background. The Digital Learning Hub academies target those seeking specialist credentials for career progression.
What is notably missing: Completion of the Elements of AI course or any equivalent training is not mandatory for any occupation. There is no employer obligation linked to the programme. Participation rates of 5,300 completions represent a small fraction of Luxembourg’s workforce of approximately 500,000. No enforcement mechanism or credential recognition framework is attached to the initiative.
