Karnataka launched Shiksha Co-Pilot, a generative AI-powered digital assistant for teachers (Classes 5-10) in collaboration with Sikshana Foundation and Microsoft Research India. The tool covers mathematics, science, English, and social science in Kannada and English. Initial rollout reached 1,000 government school teachers across urban and rural areas. The state established an AI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru with INR 28 crore investment. A Global Capability Centres policy targets 350,000 AI jobs by 2029.
