Kerala launched a 3-day AI training programme for 80,000 school teachers through KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education), covering Classes 8-12 initially with Classes 1-7 teachers trained in September-December 2024. The state deployed Samagra Plus, an AI platform that helps teachers create and customise digital learning materials and identifies student learning gaps. Kerala’s AI curriculum includes computer vision and facial expression recognition. Little KITEs IT clubs provide hands-on training in AI, robotics, 3D design, and cyber-safety. The government is planning a state-owned AI engine. Kerala’s cyber safety protocol teaches responsible AI use and protection against misinformation.
