The National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) computing requirement became mandatory in all public and private schools from 2026. AI shifts from an optional enrichment topic to a structured component with five pedagogical dimensions. The Ministry of Education stated that “educating in the age of AI requires new digital, ethical and cognitive literacy.” MEC also opened 55,000 free online AI course places nationwide with 20-40 hour programmes and published guidance on AI use in basic education.
