Jalisco runs Gemini Academy AI teacher training with Google for Education

The Government of Jalisco’s Secretaría de Educación partnered with Google for Education to deliver the Gemini Academy intensive workshop to more than a thousand state teachers, focused on ethical, pedagogical, and creative classroom use of artificial intelligence. The state’s vocational training institute IDEFT is separately preparing an AI-focused course offering scheduled to open to the public in May 2026. The training is voluntary and offered without a binding curricular mandate, but it represents a state-funded teacher training initiative delivered at scale.
