The IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has partnered with Simplilearn to host the national YUVA AI for ALL foundational course on Coursera. The programme targets 10 million citizens and is designed to democratise AI education beyond the formal school and university system. It provides a free, self-paced introduction to AI concepts for learners with no technical background.

Separately, the IndiaAI Mission and Microsoft collaboration is on track to skill 500,000 individuals by the end of 2026, including students and government officials. The mission also operates Data and AI Labs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, extending infrastructure to areas that would otherwise lack access to AI training environments.

Who it affects: General public, with an emphasis on non-technical learners and citizens in smaller cities. The 10-million target makes this one of the largest public AI literacy campaigns globally.

What is notably missing: The course is voluntary and not linked to any employment or educational requirement. No assessment or certification standard has been announced that would allow employers or institutions to verify completion.
