On 22 April 2026, the Consejería de Empleo, Empresa y Trabajo Autónomo of the Junta de Andalucía announced the opening of registrations for 17 free courses in emerging technologies, under the Programa de Formación para el Empleo en Tecnologías 5G. The offer includes 765 places distributed across all Andalucian provinces, delivered in partnership with Vodafone and Integra Conocimiento.

Course breakdown

  • 6 courses in Programación en Inteligencia Artificial y Big Data
  • 5 courses in Programación en Realidad Virtual y Aumentada
  • 6 courses in Programación de soluciones IoT y Smart Cities

Format

Each course consists of 150 hours over eight weeks, with an 80% online / 20% in-person methodology. Courses are available in Almería, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Jerez de la Frontera, Linares, Málaga, and Sevilla.

Eligibility: prioritised for unemployed individuals; up to 30% of places may go to employed people wishing to upskill. Minimum qualification (Bachillerato, vocational Level 3, or university degree) required. A diploma from the Consejería is awarded on completion.

Score impact

Dimension 13 (free or publicly funded AI literacy resources available to the general population): This initiative reinforces Andalucía’s existing score of 1 for dim 13, providing additional publicly funded AI training routes. The existing evidence base (Aprende Volando programme serving 130,000 people; prior 84 free AI/5G courses) already supports this score; no change to the current score is warranted, but this item confirms the programme continues to expand.
