Summary
Canton Vaud, through its Eduvaud platform, has developed and curated a comprehensive collection of educational resources on artificial intelligence for teachers and students. This initiative is coordinated through the CIIP (Conférence intercantonale de l’instruction publique de la Suisse romande et du Tessin - Intercantonal Conference of Public Education for French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino).
Resource Framework
The Eduvaud IA resources are organized around four key axes:
- Technical aspects: Understanding how AI technologies function
- Societal and ethical issues: Implications and ethical dimensions of AI
- Educational uses and challenges: Classroom applications and pedagogical considerations
- Legal and institutional frameworks: Regulatory compliance and governance
CIIP Coordination
The CIIP cantons (including Vaud) have undertaken a coordinated approach to develop an agreed strategy for AI in education, aiming to support this evolution in a coordinated manner. General recommendations for responsible AI use have been adopted by the CIIP plenary assembly.
Complementary Support
The platform complements these general CIIP recommendations with canton-specific resources and guidance for Vaud educators. Training costs for AI literacy among Vaud civil servants are covered by the cantonal administration within allocated budgets through the CEP (Centre de formation).
Status
Active resource collection; aligned with French-speaking Swiss cantonal coordination through CIIP. Serves as the official digital resource portal for educators in Vaud.
