Egypt’s Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel-Latif announced that programming and artificial intelligence courses will be introduced into technical school curricula starting in the 2026/27 academic year. This extends the AI and coding initiative already running at the general secondary level since 2025/26. Technical education (vocational tracks) was previously excluded from AI curriculum integration. The expansion is ministerial directive and represents a broadening of the existing dim-1 finding (AI curriculum exists) to encompass the full secondary system, not a new binding mandate with defined standards.

Scoring note: Dimension 1 remains at 1 — AI curriculum exists and is being extended; it is not yet a binding law with enforced standards (dim 2 remains 0). The scope of coverage is widening but the mechanism is ministerial directive, not legislation.
