Iran Digital Programme: 200,000 Students AI Training Launch (March 2026)

Following the development of Iran Digital, a national platform designed to teach artificial intelligence to four million students free of charge, the Ministry of Education launched AI instruction to 200,000 students in March 2026. The programme includes game-based and interactive learning with seasonal competitions, ranking systems across geographic areas, and prize awards for top performers.

The initial scaling represents significant progress toward the broader goal of training four million students under Iran Digital, though still early in implementation. The platform was originally scheduled to launch in the Iranian calendar year beginning March 21, but implementation accelerated in March 2026 as part of wider educational continuity efforts.

Scoring note: Dimension 1 (AI literacy curriculum exists) remains scored at 1 (partial implementation); this research confirms active curriculum delivery at scale (200,000+ students) through the Iran Digital platform, though the foundational score reflects that the curriculum is not yet universally mandated across all secondary schools as binding law.
