New Hampshire positioned itself as a national leader in AI readiness by becoming the first state to adopt Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s AI tutoring platform, on a statewide level. This initiative provides K-12 students and teachers across New Hampshire with access to AI-powered learning tools designed to personalize education and support student achievement.

Additionally, iLearnNH, a grant-funded program supported by the New Hampshire Department of Education and the University System of New Hampshire, offers free small-group ed tech trainings for K-12 teachers with sessions available in-person or virtually. The program covers topics including AI literacy and blended learning strategies, with a mission to equip educators with knowledge and skills to integrate learning management systems and navigate the challenges of AI in educational settings.

These initiatives represent a coordinated approach to providing both free public resources (Khan Academy access) and educator professional development (iLearnNH) to support AI literacy across the state’s schools.

Scoring note: Dimension 1 (partial AI literacy curriculum guidance) scores 1 for the adoption of AI-powered learning tools statewide. Dimension 4 (teacher training) scores 1 for grant-funded professional development programs. Dimension 13 (free/publicly funded AI literacy resources) scores 1 for statewide access to Khan Academy’s Khanmigo platform at no cost to schools.
