The Comunidad de Madrid announced new AI tools for the EducaMadrid platform in January 2026: an AI assistant for email drafting and an adaptive content generator that personalises learning materials to individual student pace and characteristics. The initiative is piloted in five schools (CRA Los Olivos, IES María de Molina, IES Juan Carlos I, CEIP Ciudad del Aire, IES Marie Curie) before region-wide rollout. Projected saving: 40 hours per teacher per year; up to 3 million teacher-hours annually across the region. These tools are provided free to public schools. This is a government-funded AI education tool, voluntary in uptake, with no binding student-facing AI literacy curriculum attached.
