The Universidad de Guanajuato (UG) issued 204 microcredentials in “Inteligencia Artificial para la Docencia” during 2026, making Guanajuato the first Mexican state to officially recognise microcredentials and partial learning. The microcredential offers university teachers a practical introduction to AI tools for teaching, including ethical and critical dimensions. UG also presented the ColmenIA institutional strategy in 2026, promoting ethical, critical, and responsible use of generative AI across the university environment. This confirms state-supported, structured teacher AI training beyond the earlier Gemini Academy and Hora de la IA initiatives.
