EdugalIA is a €16 million project by the Xunta de Galicia applying AI to educational governance, including digital student records and an early warning system for dropout risk detection. Galicia will be the first autonomous community in Spain to implement a system of this scope, using AI to identify at-risk students and support intervention.

What is notably missing: EdugalIA is an administrative AI deployment project rather than a curriculum or public-facing AI literacy initiative. No mandatory teacher training in AI use is attached. The AI is applied to administration, not to developing students’ own AI literacy.
