Maharashtra is developing India’s first state-level AI policy covering education, employment, and cybersecurity. The state is establishing a dedicated AI University with curriculum spanning healthcare, agriculture, finance, and manufacturing. A task force including IIT Mumbai, IIM Mumbai, Google India, and the Mahindra Group advises on implementation. The policy focuses on generating jobs through AI and ensuring AI complements human capabilities.
