Idaho signs AI education bill with public-private partnership

Governor Little signed SB 1227 on March 26 2026, establishing a statewide AI education framework addressing privacy, AI literacy standards, and professional development for teachers. The bill is accompanied by a public-private partnership with Micron, Microsoft, Stukent, Idaho National Laboratory, and the Idaho STEM Action Center, focused on responsible AI education and career readiness. The framework takes effect July 1 2026 and represents a combined legislative mandate with industry-supported teacher training.
