The Région Grand Est and France Travail Grand Est signed a partnership agreement in November 2025 designating the Region as France’s pilot region for applying artificial intelligence to vocational training, using AI to match jobseekers to appropriate training pathways. The Region also partners with the European Centre for Artificial Intelligence through Innovation (ENACT), jointly led by the Université de Lorraine and the Université de Strasbourg. ENACT’s 2026 objectives include doubling the number of AI-trained students and recruiting twelve engineers to a dedicated R&D service for regional businesses. A 2026-2028 multi-year convention with the five universities in the Grand Est territory supports course creation, transformation of existing training and pedagogical renewal. The Grand Est framework is a regional funding and partnership structure rather than a new mandate, so it reinforces publicly available AI training provision at the subregional level without creating statutory obligations beyond national law. Score impact is confined to the public-access dimension.
