The Région Occitanie has committed €60M over five years to structure a regional AI sector under the IA Occitanie plan, with €55M dedicated to research and training activity. The Conseil économique, social et environnemental régional recommends integrating generative AI competency development into teacher and trainer training, issuing 13 recommendations emphasising workforce and teaching-force preparation as the pillar of the regional AI transition. In parallel, the académies within the Occitanie region, coordinated by DRANE Occitanie, run a national Mois de l’IA programme in January 2026 with webinars and teacher-facing training. A five-hour online self-study course, “Connaître, utiliser et enseigner l’IA”, is available to prepare teachers for AI-era classroom practice, and the IH2EF deploys eight webinars across the 2025-26 year on managing AI in education. The package raises publicly funded training access and contributes to teacher preparation across the region, but it does not create binding curricular or employer obligations beyond those that apply nationally.
