Puglia 'Upskilling for Governance' provides 300-hour AI and digital training for municipal employees

The Puglia Region, in partnership with CINI (National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics), the University of Bari Aldo Moro, and ANCI Puglia, launched the second edition of “Upskilling for Governance,” a 300-hour advanced training course for active employees of Puglia’s municipalities. The programme covers digital transformation, process simplification, AI tools applied to public administration, and strategic management of European funds. It is structured as 200 hours of e-learning and 100 hours of in-person sessions, with 40 places available. The application deadline was extended to 14 May 2026 to broaden participation. Funding comes via the INTERREG South Adriatic 2021–2027 programme under the SA-EMPOWERING GOVERNANCE strategic project, making the course fully free for participating municipal employees. Participation is application-based rather than universally mandated for all civil servants in the region.
