The first Polish AI Factory — PIAST-AI — was ceremonially launched on 22 April 2026 at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Centre (PCSS). The project is a consortium of four partners: Poznan University of Technology, Adam Mickiewicz University, Nicolaus Copernicus University, and PCSC. It is funded by €50 million from the European Commission (EuroHPC Joint Undertaking) and approximately 340 million PLN from the Polish government. The facility will be equipped with over 1,000 graphics cards integrated with quantum and HPC ecosystems. Comprehensive AI services are scheduled to launch in Q3 2026. The AI Factory provides a major public digital AI infrastructure asset for research institutions, businesses, and public bodies in Wielkopolska and Poland.
