The federal government inaugurated the Centro Público de Formación en Inteligencia Artificial (MEXIA) at the TecNM campus in Tláhuac, Mexico City, on 26 January 2026 — described as the largest public AI training centre in Latin America. The centre targets 25,000 graduates per year across five specialisation tracks: artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and Java programming. It is a joint initiative of ATDT-INFOTEC, IPN, SECIHTI, and TecNM in partnership with technology companies and AMITI, with double certification from INFOTEC and TecNM. Mexico City is the primary location and launch site for the programme’s first generation (January–June 2026).
