The Government of Lao PDR announced that its National Artificial Intelligence Strategy would draw on findings from UNESCO’s AI Ethics Readiness Assessment Methodology to guide responsible and inclusive AI development. The assessment was initiated in January 2025 and marks the official launch of the Lao PDR readiness assessment report.

The upcoming 10th Education and Sports Sector Development Plan (2026-2030) will incorporate digital education strategy informed by this readiness assessment.
